AWMI Quad Cities presents Van Meter Cedar Rapids Tour

Van Meter’s roots are in Cedar Rapids – and they have been since 1928, which is when they first opened their doors.

Fun fact: Company founders R.L. Van Meter and R.W. Lemley outfitted Van Meter’s headquarters with fluorescent lighting, making it the very first building west of the Mississippi to ever incorporate this technological feature. Today, the headquarters office and service center are situated on the north side of 32nd Avenue while the Central Distribution Center and sales counter – along with the indoor drive-through service area – are all directly across the street on the south side of 32nd Avenue. Our Cedar Rapids serves as the hub for the 800+ product lines we carry. Nearly everything is in stock; if it isn’t, they can get it for you quickly.

Van Meter Central Distribution Center was built in 1981, with a recent expansion in 2019. This expansion includes a new conveyor system that increases efficiency and value-added time while also expanding the physical warehouse to house more inventory for the needs of our customers. This helps us provide exceptional service and same-day or next-day delivery.

Attendance is limited to the first 56 registrants so register today!

Cost:

$30 – Members riding bus

$15 – Members meeting us in Cedar Rapids

(Lunch will be provided after the tour sponsored by Van Meter)

All tour attendees will be sent an email with day of instructions as well as PPE Requirements after they have registered.

Please arrive by 7:30am to SSAB Parking Lot, bus will leave SSAB at 8:00am.

Tour will start at 9:30am.  Bus should be back at SSAB between 1:30pm-2:00pm
