Michele is the Senior Director of Relationship Advancement and Donor Network Chair for Women United at United Way Quad Cities. With Women United, the mission is to have every Quad Cities child enter kindergarten ready to thrive and on the path to read by third grade. Women United has four bold strategies: to empower parents, to provide child care scholarships, to champion the impact of child care professionals, and to raise public awareness for the importance of these endeavors. Michele also stewards leadership level investors of the United Way Quad Cities to rise united giving every student the education they deserve, help all students find a job that utilizes their talents and prove health is the greatest wealth of all.
Michele has two sons, Jack, 23, a financial analyst with Quad City Bank and Trust, and Max, 22, a senior at St. Ambrose on the track and field team. She is married to a retired Army Colonel, Dan, who is a government contractor. Their home is a bit crazy with four dogs (three senior rescues) and Bette the Bengal cat.
Membership is open to men and women in positions in the metal industries, fabricator, distributor, freight, industry related media, finance, and consultants. If they are wondering if they are eligible to join please reach out or bring them to this event!
Women United members volunteer for these partners in this arena and do diaper drives, read to the preschool class, help with Born Learning Academies, etc.
By investing in the Women United Network you become a member of this powerhouse group of women whose main goal is to provide:
- Greater access to quality child care for at-risk children.
- Born Learning Academies that coach parents and caregivers on how they can best support their child’s early development and learning.
- Opportunities to develop reading, social and problem-solving skills.
- Quality improvements for preschool and early education programs.
- Professional development for care providers.
