About the Speaker: Brent Cheney joined SSAB in 2024 and serves as the Trade Compliance and European Products Manager for SSAB Americas commercial division, a leading steel plate producer in North America. In this role, he oversees import and export compliance across North America and Europe, managing tariff classification, duty-mitigation strategies, and adherence to complex international trade regulations.
Brent is a Licensed U.S. Customs Broker and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Concordia University, St. Paul. He brings extensive expertise in customs compliance, trade policy, and regulatory risk management within the metals industry. His background includes designing and implementing trade compliance programs that strengthen regulatory integrity while supporting operational efficiency, reinforcing SSAB’s position as a trusted and transparent global manufacturer.
Focused on the evolving landscape of tariffs and global trade in the metals sector, Brent works to balance commercial objectives with the increasing complexity of international regulatory requirements.
