Judy Ferraro has immersed herself in sales and leadership for over thirty years. For a decade, Judy owned and operated her own scrap metal business. After 18 years in scrap, she decided to shed the glitz and glamour of scrap metal to form a consulting business.
For two decades, Judy wrote an award-winning column for Scrap Magazine called “On Sales,” She is now thrilled to be writing a column called “The C.A.R.T.” for Metal Recycling Magazine.

Judy has been working with Shapiro, a sustainability company, for several years, first as an outsourced VP of Sales and now as their Chief Marketing Officer. She also coaches and mentors young business professionals, which is truly her passion.

Judy has published two books with one on the way. Her first book, “If I Catch You, I Will Kill You” is about her experience of childhood sexual abuse, she wants to make it clear that she did not kill anyone, and you’ll have to read it to understand the title. A business book entitled, On Sales and Other Helpful Business Stuff. And she is currently putting the final touches on a book called, “Everyone Wants to Name the Dog.”

Studying in Chicago’s comedy circle at Second City, IO and Player’s Workshop was a steppingstone to creating popular employee development programs that incorporate improv into her presentations. Her comedic background and excellent interactive skills result in workshops that are informative and fun. She emphasizes the importance of listening, the art of asking good questions, the power of agreement, and the ability to laugh at oneself.

Judy attended DePaul University’s College of Commerce in Chicago. She is married to Mike Gruber who is a golf instructor and golf coach for a women’s college team and has one son who has a master’s in leadership and coaches a women’s college basketball team. Lots of “coaching” going on in our family!
