Carren Hutto was appointed General Manager of Carpenter Technology’s Hartsville, S.C., facility in December of 2018. In this role, Ms. Hutto is responsible for the plant’s day-to-day operations, with a focus on driving optimal safety, efficiency, performance, customer satisfaction and quality. She also leads the site’s short- and long-term strategic planning and forecasting.

Before serving as General Manager, Ms. Hutto was Demand Manager at Hartsville. Ms. Hutto began her now more than 12-year career at Carpenter Technology as an Account Representative and assumed roles of increasing responsibility in Operations Planning. Prior to joining Carpenter Technology, she worked at Ruff and Tuff Electric Vehicles, Inc., C.H. Robinson and Boone Hall Plantation.

Within Carpenter Technology, Ms. Hutto serves on the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee and Site Safety Leadership Council. She successfully completed the Leadership Development Program within the Supervisor Academy. For demonstration of Carpenter Technology’s Core Values, as well as outstanding performance and leadership, Ms. Hutto was inducted into Carpenter Technology’s Hall of Leaders.

Ms. Hutto earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from the College of Charleston. She earned a Certificate from the Leadership Development Program from the Center for Creative Leadership, and holds a South Carolina Master Gardener Certificate from the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service. She also completed the Leadership Coaching Practicum by Leadership Systems.
