Guest Speaker: Amanda Wood, O’Neal Manufacturing Services

Amanda has been in the steel industry for nearly 12 years. She began her career in 2014 with O’Neal Steel in Birmingham, Alabama, working in Supply Chain. A few years later, she transitioned to O’Neal Manufacturing Services. In 2019, Amanda relocated to Greensboro, NC, with her husband and two dogs to take on the role of Materials Manager. She was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2021 and, in 2023, became the first female General Manager in O’Neal Manufacturing Services’ history.

In her current role, Amanda oversees safety, production, materials, engineering, maintenance, and the P&L for the Greensboro facility. She is actively involved in the North Carolina chapter of Women in Manufacturing and previously served as President and held other leadership roles with the AWMI Alabama chapter.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, especially her one-year-old son, Cayden, who keeps her very busy.
