A note from AWMI International President Sonya Malvick

During these unprecedented times in our lives and careers many of us are working remotely and trying to figure out how to ensure we are managing our jobs, children, finances and homes to the best of our abilities. As we embrace this recent change that has been thrust upon us, we can continue to provide value to our companies and the organization in doing things differently.  Thinking outside the box, as well as communication, are the keys to success today.

While we currently have postponed events and Chapter meetings, we are working to continue moving our Association forward towards reaching our goals and embracing our cornerstones. Leveraging technology, our Chapter boards have begun hosting “Zoom” meetings to conduct important Chapter business. While we have postponed our Chapter educational and networking events, we are looking at possible networking meetings via Zoom as well as Chapter Webinars as options to continue to meet those needs. Our fall conference being held in San Diego this year, once again will highlight top industry speakers as well as fantastic leadership presenters.

AWMI continues to be the strong organization you have come to expect and we continue to embrace our four cornerstones of Educate, Mentor, Network and Grow.

Thank you to our members for continuing to support our organization and thank you to our member companies for their willingness to support AWMI and their employees during this difficult time. We are confident that this too shall pass and we will once again be offering up fantastic meetings that will allow for Networking, Growth, Educate and Mentoring. In the meantime, take advantage of the programs offered and reach out to your many AWMI friends when needed.
