Sue joined Ryerson in 1980 after earning a BA in Education. She also completed an Executive Sales Management program at the University of Michigan and metallurgical training at the Illinois Institute of Technology. She held a variety of positions in credit, sales and product management at Ryerson and was promoted to Inside Sales Manager in 1987 and Manager of Sales in 1988. In 1990, Sue accepted a position as District Sales Manager at Main Steel Polishing a large toll processor and polisher of non ferrous metals. In 1996 she was named Eastern Regional Sales Manager for North American Stainless in Ghent, KY. In 2001, Sue was named Vice President of Prime Advantage, LLC. – a buying consortium for manufacturing companies consuming large quantities of steel. Returning to Ryerson in 2006, Sue was a Director on Ryerson’s Global Accounts team managing large, complex Global customers. In 2012, Sue was promoted to General Manager, Ryerson SE Program and assumed the responsibility for the management of all the contractual business in Ryerson’s SE Region. She is now a resident of Atlanta, GA.
Sue is a continuous 23 year member of the AWMI and was a long time member of the Boston Chapter of the AWMI, beginning in 1990. She was the President of the Boston Chapter, the Eastern Regional Director, a member of the national Board of Directors and International President of the AWMI in 2001-2002. She was a board member of the New England Iron League and is a past president of the Lake Shore Symphony Orchestra. She is active as a professional violinist with the Gwinnett Symphony.
